- President (1): Oversees the association by ensuring all council members stay on task. Must be familiar with “Robert’s Rules of Order”. Fills in on a vacant position until a new member is elected for that position.
Morgane Paquet is the Fall 2025-Winter 2026 VCSA President. Her advice for the future president: “Be extremely flexible. Follow what the council and the students say. Try to make decisions and think of what everybody thinks as a whole. Work a lot towards compromise, finding middle grounds… Try to be someone that listens to both sides and that brings everything together… Try to always be available and mainly, care about the VCSA… and everything else will come naturelly”.
- Vice-president (1): Does everything the president does if the president is absent. Handles external communications with Vanier administration and other external affairs.
- Treasurer (1): Is responsible for the association’s finances.
- Academic Affairs Coordinator (1): Is the VCSA’s representative on the Academic Council. Responsible for addressing students’ academic concerns.
Lia Poupart is the current Academic Affairs Coordinator. Her advice for the next one: “Compared to the other roles, it’s not as much [of a] workload. Of course it depends on how ambitious you are… Continue the scholarships. Students are getting involved and it’s good to reward [them]… Also, get creative… and don’t be afraid to be ambitious, Try to collaborators with students and hear out their voices”.
- Internal Affairs Coordinator (1): Officially responsible for internal communications. Assistant to the president, vice-president, and treasurer. Handles meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
- Clubs Coordinators (2): Responsible for ensuring the proper operation of all Vanier clubs funded by the VCSA.
Hassan Yassine currently serves as Clubs Coordinator 1. His advice for his successor is: “I was advised before joining the VCSA that it might be a lot of work, but I sort of brushed it off. It definitely is a lot of work! It’s a lot more than you might think! As a Clubs Coordinator, you have to manage a lot of people. We have 26 clubs this semestre we have 7 execs per club – you can do the math – and there’s a couple hundred members as well. We have some of the biggest events to organize, Clubs Day, the Gala… So if you’re planning on applying, that’s definitely what I would watch out for. There’s a lot more conflicts that you might think. You have to make sure everyone is happy, well taken care of, and getting what they need for their club. [There’s] a lot of budgets as well. You have to keep track of a lot of numbers. It’s basically being a part-time treasurer… You have to [keep track] of everything that is ever purchased. Clubs might fight, people might fight. Space booking is a pain… It’s a lot more work than you might think but at the end of the day, it’s very enjoyable”.
Rayen Mohamad Jaouadi currently serves as Clubs Coordinator 2. His advice for his successor is: “Besides managing all the clubs, you have to manage the council. Sometimes you have to pitch in for clubs, sometimes you have to stay neutral. You need to really love what you’re doing so you can have the time and passion to keep on going because there are some days where you feel like everyone is against you and you’re trying to do your best to make everyone happy. But sometimes it might not work. If you habe 8-9 classes, do not [apply for] this because this is a huge responsibility. You have to representant the students.
- Communications Coordinators (2): Responsible for synthesizing and analyzing information gathered from different sources within the College.
Lukus Sakayan is the Communications Coordinator 2. His advice: “What I do is reading emails and making posts for social media. [My advice for the next person in my position] is to have creative freedom over the things that you make. And don’t let other people’s opinion stomp over yours”.
- Community Coordinators (2): ensures the council is active in the school community by attending General Assemblies and actively engaging in conversations pertaining to social justice, sustainability, and other important issues with students.
